The Hustle, Spirituality Awakening and Ayurveda with Sahara Rose

I am so excited and delighted to share my interview with the inspirational Queen of Ayurveda, Sahara Rose.

For those who aren't familiar with her work, Sahara is taking the world by storm. Based in L.A, with over 80K + followers on her social media accounts. Sahara is a number 1# best selling author on Amazon with her book, Idiots Guide to Ayurveda.

Sahara is currently writing her third and fourth book in Bali. Her Highest Self Podcast has over 1 million downloads and Deepak Chopra has coined her as A leading voice for the millennial generation into the new paradigm.

In my questions to Sahara, she talks about what the hustle was like building her brand to what it is today (HUGE) and higher consciousness, the need to serve others and her view on dating a guy in the music scene (just like me!)

ENJOY! <3

What is a regular Ayurvedic practice you do daily without thinking about it anymore?

Tongue scraping. Can't imagine life (or my tongue) without it)

You have become such an inspirational Ayurvedic leader for our generation. Was the journey to where you are now seamless? how much of it was hustle and how much was ease?

Not seamless at all. Full of seams. Emotions. Drama. Trauma. Ancestral bondage work. But isn't every success story?

You have recently published your book, Idiots Guide to Ayurveda, which is an Amazon Best Seller. You run highly successful e-courses online, and also an uber popular Podcast called The Highest Self, you do Talks and Events and now you are currently in Bali working on two new books! How do you fit it all in? what are your methods to stay balanced and not overworked, and have you always been this way?

I don't wait. I do. The moment something is on my plate, I'll just do it. I rather get it done then let it take up my mental space of needing to be done. For example, I respond to emails the moment I receive them. There is no point of rereading something when you can just answer once and move on.

What was the biggest mistake you think you've made in your career?

Never made a mistake. Only experiences.

What insights or advice would you give to those health & wellness coaches starting out and wanting to make a difference in the world?

Be radically yourself.

Your podcasts are such a delight to listen to, I feel your energy from my headphones and feel you streaming higher consciousness when you speak. How do you step out of your own way and allow higher consciousness to just flow?

I normally go on walks or pilates/ yoga class before. When my body is in flow, my mind is in flow. I don't plan what i'm going to say. I don't even have a point in mind. I just put on the headphones and speak.

Do you regularly manifest? what are you techniques to help serve you when it comes to Law of Attraction and manifestation?

I manifest but I also do the work. There is a lot of spiritual bypass of people thinking they can envision a ferrari and it's going to show up in their drive way. You have to do the work. There is no escaping that. I use manifestation as a tool to envision what I want and then take the action steps necessary to get there. I focus on the big picture (Vata) and hone it in with the action (Pitta) and reevaluate with the grounding (Kapha.)

Was there a significant time / moment in your life where you had the "spiritual awakening" or "aha" moment?

Yes, when I had to leave Bali, was broke as a joke, had to move back in with my parents after traveling on my own for several years, found out my bf of 4 years was cheating on me, had no idea what I wanted to do with my life and was called a loser and failure by my parents. It was the worst moment of my life, heaving on the floor wondering if God even exists and also the moment I became free. I talk all about that period on Highest Self Podcast Episode 41.

Is there a book that blew your mind and transformed the way you think?

No, my awakenings have always come straight from source. I write more books than I read :P I will say Perfect Health by Deepak Chopra inspired me because of the modern way he put Ayurveda, which really inspired me to write my first book, Eat Right For Your Mind-Body Type, which I wrote before Idiot's Guide to Ayurveda, before I had ever met an author or even knew how to get a book published.

I know in the spiritual, mindfulness community there is a thirst for finding partners that are on the exact same wave length, spiritual path. But I tend to disagree as nobody can walk your own path. I love that your BF is a musician (my husband is too) have you always felt it was ok to not have a partner that was exactly the same as you?. To not expect your partner to have to walk and talk your visions and spiritual growth? Instead, being a compliment to your life, instead of an expectation. What are your thoughts on this?

I think it's important for your partner to be on a spiritual growth path but it doesn't have to look like your own. My partner's form of meditation is being in the music studio making beats and melodies. Mine looks like writing books and recording podcasts. We are both channeling source, just different karmic tools to bring them forth to the physical plain. A spiritual guy doesn't have to have a man-bun, use essential oils, dress in ponchos and give everyone 7 minute hugs, followed by the Tantric eye-stare. It can look like going to work, waving at your neighbors, holding the door for a stranger and just being a good freaking person <3
